Entries for the West Otago Art and Craft Exhibition are coming in thick and fast.
President Jann Robertson said organisers were expecting about the same number of entries they had for the last exhibition. “[Last time] we had entries numbering in the hundreds, so I think it will be close to that,” Mrs Robertson said.
This year’s guest artist is John Toomer, of Dunedin, who is well-known for his landscape works. Toomer will also tutor a two-day workshop.
The workshop will be held on March 25 and 26 and will have limited numbers.
There were still openings for the workshop, Mrs Robertson said.
The exhibition is held every second year and comprises paintings, sculptures, photographs and crafts such wall hangings. There was also an  emerging artists’ section,  Mrs Robertson said. The exhibition will also include Blue Mountain College pupils’ NCEA art boards.
“[It’s] amazing to see what they do.”
