A choir of mostly Invercargill singers has performed at Bupa Windsor Park Retirement Village community centre in a Christmas celebration.
Village manager Angela Carse said this was the first time the community centre had hosted such a large performance.
Residents of Bupa’s Gore Windsor Park Care Home and people who had attended the village’s open homes, along with village residents, were among those who attended the performance by Uniquely Us, Ms Carse said.
Uniquely Us director Dorothy Chamberlain said she and pianist Sharon Hillis were from the Mataura district, and the rest of the choir was from Invercargill.
Having fun performing was the aim of the choir.
“Age is no barrier,” Mrs Chamberlain said.
Formed about five years ago, the choir performed a selection of songs including Christmas themed numbers.
The choir performed at the Te Tipua School before arriving at the village.
