Author and children’s performer Dean O’Brien, aka Mr Yipadee, will be at the Gore District Library tomorrow promoting his new book, Nee Naw The Little Fire Engine.
Youth librarian Jenny Paisley said library staff were excited to have Mr Yipadee perform.
“We jumped at the chance,” Mrs Paisley said.
O’Brien is from Mosgiel and started out as a children’s performer and musician.
He branched out into the world of children’s books with his Christmas book Jingle Bells Rudolph Smells.
Nee Naw The Little Fire Engine is the second book he has published and he has also released four children’s albums.
His alter ego, Mr Yipadee, would perform and he would also sign autographs and pose for photos, Mrs Paisley said.
The event was free and anyone was welcome.
“It’s great to have a community event here at the library, she said.
“It’s a community space.
“It’s not just for books any more.”

Mr Yipadee’s performance will start at 10am tomorrow.
