Tickets for one of the biggest events on Eastern Southland’s calendar are on sale.
Each year the Mataura Licensing Trust New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards events attract thousands of visitors to Gore over Queen’s Birthday weekend.
The future of music in New Zealand will be on stage this year, in the 45th annual event, as top musicians from around the country compete in the junior, intermediate and senior sections.
Awards convener Phil Geary said organisers were looking forward to another amazing event and building on the growth experienced in the past few years.
“With strategic partners Mataura Licensing Trust on board as the new naming sponsor, we are looking forward to attracting even more amazing talent for our ticket holders to enjoy as we search for the MLT NZ Gold Guitar Awards senior overall winner for 2018,” Mr Geary said.
The 2017 winner, Jenny Mitchell, will feature as guest artist at the senior award finals on Sunday, June 3, at the Gore Town and Country Club stadium.
Auditions for all contestants will be held on June 1, 2 and 3 at the Gore RSA, Gore Baptist Church and Gore Town and Country Club.
The popular showcase will feature yet to be announced professional and semi-professional country music artists at the Gore Town and Country Club stadium.
