School to benefit from book launch

Celebrity chef Jo Seagar will be coming to Gore for the launch of her new cookbook Elbows off the Table, Please.
The visit, which is a fundraiser for the East Gore School Parent Teacher Association, will be held on Monday, September 12 at Paper Plus at 7.30pm.
PTA secretary Sarah Currie said the school was given the opportunity to be involved in the book launch by Paper Plus.
The money raised would go towards kapa haka uniforms.
‘‘When it comes to performing, it’s nice to have good gear,’’ Mrs Currie said.
About 50 pupils were in the kapa haka group.
The school held its first book launch fundraiser in 2012.
‘‘It’s been successful in the past so it’s great to have another opportunity,’’ she said.
Gore Paper Plus owner Doug Grant said the store had held several Jo Seagar book launches and had 120 to 150 people attend.
Book launches were a way for Paper Plus to help schools and community groups raise funds, he said.
Nibbles from some of the recipes in the cookbook will be available during the launch. – Tickets to chef Jo Seagar’s book launch are $10 and are available at Paper Plus in Gore and East Gore School.bridgemediaSneakers
