Dozens of families were splashed with colour as part of a community trust initiative in Gore last weekend.

Gore Kids Hub trustee Bronnie Grant said the annual colour run was an “awesome” way for the trust to give back to the community after a tough year dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event was held at the Gore Kids Hub on Wayland St on Saturday.

Parents, caregivers and children ran through a wall of water showered by the local fire brigade and then went down a water slide, zigzagging through an obstacle course on the field before running past stations with pupils from St Peter’s College throwing coloured powder at them.

Each colour blue and yellow sponsored by a different company.

Despite the rain, participants seemed to enjoy the event, particularly the water slide and coloured powder.

“Kids were screaming and had massive smiles on their face,” Mrs Grant said.

“They loved seeing their parents going down the waterslide.”

About 200 took part in the colour run, while about 100 people, mostly family members, watched, Mrs Grant said.bridgemediaOfficial Look: Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch”
