The call has gone out for registrations from those wishing to attend a Jenkins Motors staff reunion.
The gathering will be held at Labour Weekend.
The reunion is being organised by former staff members Allan Boyer, Doug Grant, Colleen Whitefield and owner Russell Johnstone.
Mr Johnstone said the business was started by Len Jenkins in 1949 and provided buses for many groups, including charter groups, tours and school pupils.
In 1972, Mr Johnstone started as a mechanic in the business.
The business would close in December, so the union was also a farewell.
“All the buses are for sale.”
Mr Johnstone and his wife, Jo, had owned the business since 2003.
Registrations for the reunion would be open until the first week in October and anyone who worked for the company- whether it was drivers, office staff, mechanics or cleaners- were welcome to attend.
“The people who worked for us are all around New Zealand.”
The first function of the reunion would be a meet and greet at the Gore RSA on the Friday night.
The next day the group would take a bus trip to Bill Richard Transport World in Invercargill.
An evening meal would be held at the Heartland Hotel Croydon.
