The Riding for Developing Abilities group has put out the call to the community for help buy Rosie the pony to add to the list of mounts it has available for riders.
Head coach Carol Dawson said 12-year-old riding pony Rosie had been on loan to the group for the past six months.
Rosie was now for sale for $6000 and was the perfect pony for riders attending the group, Mrs Dawson said.
“If she went on the open market, she would go for more than that,” Mrs Dawson said.
“She’s a nice size.”
Rosie was an asset and the organisation would be sorry to lose her.
“It would be such a shame not to secure her – she’s worked out really well,” she said.
The organisation was seeking $20 each from 300 people, and needed another 272 pledges, she said.
“So we’ve got it under way,” Mrs Dawson said.
“In some cases some people have given five lots of $20,” Mrs Dawson said.
“So it’s just all very positive,” she said.
