Driving can be a challenge for many older people.
Cars are faster, towns busier and the importance of keeping yourself and others safe is imperative.
Helping older people learn safer driving techniques is the team at the Clutha District Council under the guidance of its new road safety co-ordinator, Rachel Harrison.
A free refresher course is offered in Tapanui.
Clutha District Council road safety co-ordinator Rachel Harrison said last time the courses were held in Balclutha and Milton they were much enjoyed by all participants.
“The oldest person was 98 and the youngest just 60, but there was so much important and interesting safety information in the course that everyone was captivated.
“They also loved the chance to catch up with each other afterwards at the shared lunch,” she said.
