Courtneah Rudd (17) is heading to Fiji in December as part of a Growing Young Disciples mission trip.

Courtneah, along with 12 other young people from Grace churches throughout New Zealand, will travel to Numulavau, a village 40 minutes’ drive from Suva.

Courtneah said he was excited about the new adventure.

“It will be such a great experience.”

He would be billeted with a host family for the 11 days he was in Fiji, he said.

He was looking forward to experiencing a different culture.

“It is one of the things I am most excited about.”

This would be the first time he had been overseas, he said.

“I didn’t expect anything like this to happen to me. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

While in Fiji he would help lead church services, run children’s Bible club holiday programmes, run youth programmes, visit villagers and work in an orphanage, Courtneah said.

He would also have the chance to experience the scenery and go snorkelling in the tropical sea.

“It will be lots of fun.”
