The Hokonui Fashion Design Awards have been postponed.
In a statement last week, organisers said they made the “very hard decision” to postpone the 32nd awards until next year due to the rapid and evolving covid-19 situation.
“We have spent time debating what to do as we wanted to make the right decisions for all concerned but unfortunately we now feel it is time for all of us to concentrate on ourselves, our families and our businesses,” a spokeswoman said.
“We look forward to 2021 – the garments you were creating for this year’s show will illuminate the catwalk next year and we have no doubt that we will bounce back bigger and brighter.
“Until then to all entrants, sponsors, judges and supporters – stay well and look after each other.”
