A Glow Party, a fun alternative to Halloween, will be held in Riversdale on Saturday.
The party is organised by Riversdale Waikaia Presbyterian Church children and families worker Sarah Cowan and will be held at the Hub.
Miss Cowan said there would be carnival-style games and “loads of candy” involved.
“We’ll be blacking out a room in the Hub and filling it with blacklights and all kinds of glowing goodies,” Miss Cowan said.
“Kids will get to make their very own glowing slime, decorate our neon graffiti wall, and play even more games. ”
If the weather is fine, there will be a bouncy castle for children aged under 9 and an obstacle course outside.
Games and activities will run from 5pm to 5.50pm and the night will end with a sausage sizzle.
Entry is $5 and includes access to everything.
Preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult and all adults can attend free. People coming to the event are encouraged to wear non-scary costumes, or dress in white/neon to glow under the blacklight.
Spot prizes will be given out for great outfits.
