The Happy Wanderers trip to Dunedin was a real success with 19 people attending.
The February outing involved the group travelling to Dunedin where they went on a range of walks.
En route to Dunedin the group stopped at Waihola, which trip organiser Isobel Agnew said was a great place.
On the first day, the group visited the Dunedin Botanic Garden, the Ross Creek Reservoir Track and went on an evening walk to Woodhaugh Gardens.
However, their city visit did not just involve walking.
Some of the Happy Wanderers also did a spot of shopping, had a swim and paddle at Brighton Beach and meals at various eateries.
“It was a great trip enjoyed by all,” Mrs Agnew said.
As well as the annual trip away, members meet for regular walks.
Gore District Walkers meet the third Tuesday of every month to go on walks around Southland.
Anyone is welcome to come along, with the group meeting outside the Little Theatre on the corner of Richmond and Norfolk Sts in Gore.
The bus leaves at 9.30am sharp, but walkers need to be there by 9.20am. For further information contact Isobel Agnew on (03) 208-6816.
