Rooms is to host a training day with the organisation’s national director Julie Calvert.
The Gore branch, which is set up under the umbrella of Healing Rooms New Zealand, had been operating seven years, team member Julie Moir said.
Healing Rooms followed Bible-based teaching, Mrs Moir said.
The service provided a safe, confidential environment where anyone in the community could come to receive prayer for the healing of “physical or emotional” ailments from a team of trained people.
It was set up like a doctor’s office and had a reception area, waiting room and private rooms.
The service was free and anyone in the community could access it.
Healing Rooms are set up throughout New Zealand.
The training day will be held at Encounter New Life Church, in Jacob St, Gore, on April 14, from 9.30am to 5pm.
The training day is open to anyone.
“Hopefully, more people will become involved as a result,” Mrs Moir said.
People from other areas were also welcome to attend and some might want to start their own groups, she said.
The organisation is interdenominational.
The training day is free but those attending are asked to bring a lunch that can be shared.
A manual will also be available for $10.
