Obstacle course a big hit

East Gore School pupils show how much they enjoy a giant inflatable obstacle course at the Gore Town & Country Club.

The Friday morning event was organised by Gore Blue Light, with help from Go Bus.

Gore senior constable and Blue Light member Steve Heyrick said the organisers were lucky to get their hands on the charity’s 33m-long, 500kg inflatable obstacle course, which spent most of its time in the North Island.

“The kids love it. They absolutely love it.”

Officers engaged with the pupils and even raced them on the course.

Snr Const Heyrick said it was a great opportunity to build a positive relationship with the pupils.

“They get to see us in a different light .. that we’re the good guys.”

Also participating were some pupils from Longford Intermediate.

Snr Const Heyrick said he hoped the course could return to Gore soon for other schools to enjoy. PHOTO & REPORT: MICHAEL CURREEN
