The Gore Parents Centre is celebrating the success of its winter fete held at the Gore Town and Country Club on Sunday.
Centre president Casey Eason said the fete went very well.
it was incredible.
“It ran smoothly. We had a fantastic parents centre committee team behind the scenes, [who] all pitched in,” Mrs Eason said.
The number of people coming through the door was almost double last year’s figure of 460 and while the total amount raised had not been worked out yet, it was expected to be more than the $4000 raised in 2016.
Funds raised from the fete will go towards childbirth education classes the group runs free of charge for parents.
About 60 couples a year took the classes.
This year the 71 stallholders participating in the fete had been invited by Gore Parents Centre to take part.
“It gave us a wider range of stalls [and] meant that we weren’t doubling up.
“All the stallholders said they had a fantastic day.”
