West Gore Home and School is proud to bring Smartfit Stylist Hayley Steemson, of Christchurch, to Gore for an entertaining evening of styling and fashion for its next fundraiser.
The Making Style Easy Everyday event will be held on Wednesday, September 6, in the new function wing of the Gore RSA.
Home and School member Sandi Pasco said they wanted to create an event where women could gather their friends up for an enjoyable night out.
“This is going to be a fun, enjoyable night out for women, and a chance to get some great fashion styling tips,” Mrs Pasco said.
West Gore School representative Kelly-Ann Findlay said the evening would include a talk from Miss Steemson and a showcase of new season fashion from Gore businesses including Collective Design, Wadzee and Money for Wine.
“We are also thrilled to have local hair and beauty experts from Love Hair and S’cape hair and medi spa on board to help with the transformations and styling for the night,” Mrs Findlay said.
Two complete makeovers were being raffled before the event to be revealed on the night.
The winners would spend time with Miss Steemson before the night and she would to show them what colours suited their skin tone, assist them with clothing styling tips and what hairstyle and colour would suit them.
“We are very excited to be able offer this fantastic prize to two lucky ladies in our community.”
West Gore Home and School wanted to include all local Gore businesses to create a sense of community.
“There are some amazing businesswomen in our community that have invested time and money bringing products and services into our town. We want to give them a chance to showcase what they have to offer,” Mrs Findlay said.
Miss Steemson also had a connection to Gore as she grew up here and was a former pupil of West Gore School.
The models were all Gore district women who were amazingly supportive of the night by being brave enough to model in front of their friends.
“It will be very cool, seeing these real, funky women look amazing in the clothing,” Mrs Pasco said.
The money raised from this event would go towards technology at West Gore School, she said.
Tickets are $35 and include a complimentary glass of wine and nibbles. They are available from Collective Design, Money for Wine, Scape Hair and Day Spa, Love Hair, Esplins Dairy, Crossroads Cycles, and West Gore School.
These businesses are also selling the makeover raffle which is drawn on August 29.
Winners also must be available for the reveal on the night.
Doors open at 6.45pm on September 6.
The home and school committee was really looking forward to the event, Mrs Pasco said.
“Get some friends together and come join us for a fun night of makeovers, style and a preview of new-season spring and summer fashions.”
