The 104th annual West Otago A&P Show was a great day, show promotions manager Jenny Marshall says.
“The sun definitely helped bring the crowds to Tapanui,” Mrs Marshall said.
“The sun was shining – it was a beautiful day.”
This year the show had a different layout to help the programme flow more easily.
“It worked particularity well . It was easier to move around to see displays and exhibits.”
A highlight was the presence of Steve Gurney, she said.
Multisport athlete and Coast to Coast record-holder Gurney attended the show as a guest.
competitions throughout the day as well as giving two 40-minute talks in the Kelso Court.
“He got into the show so much – he even got in the pit and did the big dig with the kids himself.
“He was a great success as an invited guest, Mrs Marshall said.
The show also had events running all day, including speed shearing, animal dress-up competitions, fire displays and auctions.
