Yum is the cafe at the art show

The Balfour Home and School Committee is hosting a pop-up cafe at the Riversdale Arts Mixed Media Exhibition as a fundraising venture for the school.
The cafe, to be called Yum, will serve homemade culinary delights for the duration of the exhibition.
Committee member Jodie Breen said members underwent espresso coffee making training at ROAR Coffee Roasters in Lumsden earlier this week.
The pop-up cafe will open tomorrow, Saturday, at 11am to 4pm, through to Sunday, July 31, Mrs Breen said.
The cafe will be in the Riversdale community centre where the exhibition is being held, Mrs Breen said.
It was the first time the committee had hosted such a fundraiser.
‘‘We’re pretty excited,’’ she said.
There were about 55 families at the school and the committee had a very positive response to the fundraiser and had plenty of names to add to its cafe manning roster.
There would be a wide variety of food on offer, all of it locally sourced, she said.
