For Kylie and Jared Manihera, holding their wedding on the bride’s family farm in Heriot was icing on the cake.

“We just wanted to have the wedding somewhere where it meant something,” Mrs Manihera said.

The Heriot couple celebrated their wedding in December last year in front of 110 guests.

Mrs Manihera, nee Clague, said the day turned out well.

Two days before the wedding, it was above 30degC and pouring with rain, she said.

They were standing in ankle-deep water on Thursday for the rehearsal.

However, beautiful weather dawned on Friday for the rustic-themed wedding.

Mrs Manihera’s friend Jasmin Moignard, of Perth, took photographs of the day, while Lily Jackson’s Flower Company, of Gore, provided the flowers. Barbara Frew, of Heriot, officiated and Teresa Green, of Moa Flat, made the cake.

The wedding was held in Mrs Manihera’s parents’ garden and the reception was held at the Heriot Community Centre.

Jo Holland, at Food Affair in Gore, catered. Mrs Manihera’s hair and makeup was done by friends.affiliate tracking urlAir Jordan 8 Retro Alternate 305381-104
