Fundraiser promises to be music-packed evening

Country, rock, blues, bagpipes, fiddle playing and plenty of singing will be to the fore at a variety concert to be held in Gore this week.
The Legends of the Hokonui’s Variety Concert, run by the Hokonui Celtic Pipe Band, will feature performers from throughout Southland.
Cindy Mulrooney, Bryan Townley, Jenny Mitchell, Steven Hayes, band Triple Shot and the Celtic Pipe Band will perform at the Gore Town and Country Club this Friday. Doors open at 7.30pm.
Pipe Band president Jeff Shanks said the concert would be the band’s biggest fundraiser.
He said the money raised would go towards the band’s tutoring programme as well as the band attending the New Zealand National Pipe Band Competitions in Nelson next year.
‘‘Come and support the local band because we want to keep the Scottish heritage in the area,’’ Mr Shanks said.
Some of the guest performers will also perform alongside the pipe band.
He said some of the guest performers were also former or present Southland Entertainer of the Year award winners.
Individual seating and tables of 10 were available, Mr Shanks said.
Light supper and a cash bar will be provided.
Tickets are available from the Gore Visitor Centre for $35.Running Sneakers困ったらここ!実家暮らしカップルの定番デートスポット5選
