Entries were up for the Kuriwao Collie Club’s 105th annual trials.

Secretary Liz Chittock said the trials, held on Sunday and Monday, went according to plan.

“Everything went really well.”

Entries were up on last year, Mrs Chittock said.

“It’s possibly because the weather was good,” she said.

She thought it also could have been because the Southland trials were being held this week.

She was glad the weather was better than at last year’s trials.

“We had two beautiful days.”

The competitors also enjoyed the trials, she said.

“We had good reports. The sheep worked really well.”

There were four different courses at the trials, the Donaghy’s Open Long Pull, the JJ Ltd Gore Open Yarding, the Farmland Gore Open Zig Zag and the Vetco Edendale Open Straight Hunt.

The Pukerau School PTA catered for the event.
