The Albion Excelsior junior rugby coaching day with the Southland Stags on Tuesday was a success, more than 100 children attending the event at the Gore A&P Showgrounds.

Southland Stags players Lewis Ormond and Bill Fukofuka helped out, along with Black Ferns development squad member Amy du Plessis, Southland women’s rugby development officer Scotty Eade and Argentinian-born brothers Ignacio and Nico Costa, who are down from Auckland to play for the Woodland Rugby Club this season.

It was the seventh year the coaching day has been held.

The event was sponsored by Ezy Clean, Southern Wide Real Estate and Ewan Allan Honda.
