World renowned four-star senior Parelli instructor Jackie Chant is heading to Gore for the first time to share her wisdom with horse and pony lovers.
Chant will hold a free clinic at the Gore A&P Showgrounds tomorrow at 6.30pm.
Clinic host Bev Williamson said the demonstration was an opportunity for people to learn more about natural Parelli horsemanship.
“Jackie will be showing people exactly what it is, so everyone will be able to watch and ask questions,” Williamson said.
The course would include all four areas of Parelli: on a line, liberty, freestyle and finesse.
It was perfect for horse lovers who had trouble float-loading, picking up feet or reliably tying up, as well as people having trouble getting their horses to stop and go, she said.
Williamson encouraged parents to bring their children along to the demonstration.
“It’s for all ages. It’s about teaching safety while with the horses – safety always helps solve problems.”
The demonstration was for riders of all disciplines.
Williamson spoke highly of Chant, who travelled the world teaching Parelli.
“She’s one of 10 senior Parelli instructors in the world. She’s the very very best there is,” Williamson said.
Chant was excited to be bringing Parelli to the region for the first time, she said.
“We’re really excited to be giving people this opportunity.”
People were encouraged to bring their own chairs to the event, she said.
It is a free demonstration but registrations are needed – go to www.jackiechant.co.nz to register.
