Funds for the East Gore Arts Centre and the completion of their printmaking and painting studios are hoped to be raised at an auction.
Eastern Southland Gallery programmes officer Marcella Geddes said the evening promised a lot of fun with mystery lots, lucky tickets and raffles.
‘‘There is awonderful variety of art and goods up for auction, along with gift packs, services and experiences, offering something to suit all tastes and budgets, ’’ Mrs Geddes said.
Original artworks by Janet de Wagt, Inge Doesburg and Jacqueline Byars will be up for auction.
Brendan Terry will be the auctioner for the evening.
All proceeds from the event will go towards the East Gore Art Centre project.
‘‘This [is] an exciting development for Southland and one which we hope will become an art centre of regional and national significance.’’
The auction will begin at 7.30pm on Friday. Tickets are available for $35 at the Eastern Southland Gallery.
