A community day will be held at Te Whanau o Hokonui Marae this month.
Marae committee vice chairman Reuben Turipa said the event would be a good opportunity for the community to get together.
People would be able to connect and ‘‘have some fun’’, Mr Turipa said.
There would be performances from the Gore High School kapa haka group and Te Rito Pakeke Kaumatua, from the marae, would play their ukeleles.
Children can take part in a treasure hunt for stones that have been painted by the kaumatua and hidden in the garden.
Refreshments will also be available from food and drink trucks.
The marae on Hyde St also houses Te Iho Awhi Rito Social Services, Te Ara Tika Kohanga Reo, Workplace Safety Southland, Bainfield Gardens and Koanga Kai.
Te Whanau oHokonui Marae community day will be held on November 12 from 10am to 2pm.
