Gore District Council roading manager Peter Standring supervises the removal of a planter box in Anzac St on Friday.
The box formed part of a pocket park blocking the exit on to Robertson St.
This was done as part of the council’s Streets Alive trial changes to Gore’s road layout.
While trials would be in place for three months, the council was willing to do “a bit of tweaking”, Mr Standring said.
“We’re listening to the public and any concerns they have about safety.”
The pocket park made it difficult for residents at the property on the corner of Anzac and Robertson St to use their driveway.
Space had now been cleared to give them better access.
“It’s too much to ask them to bear with it.”
However, the exit from Anzac St on to Robertson St would remain blocked off as the trial progressed.
