St Andrew’s fair sure to be a sweet success

Just Jammin..... Fair convener Margaret Martyn is getting prepared for the St Andrew's Presbyterian Church fair.

People can have an absolute jam of a time at the St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church fair this weekend.

Money raised will go towards keeping the church running.

Fair convener Margaret Martyn said people should keep an eye out for the raspberry jam, as it would be gone quickly.

‘‘If you want raspberry jam, get in early,’’ Mrs Martyn said.

The baking was also a hot commodity.

‘‘[It] always goes first.’’

Other stalls would sell vegetables, knitting, accessories and pickles.

Second-hand items will also be available from the traditionally popular white elephant stall and people could barter for them on the day.

‘‘There will be lots of bargains, especially on the white elephant stall,’’ Mrs Martyn said.

Not only would the fair be a good opportunity for people to bag a bargain, it was also a good chance to connect with the community on a Saturday morning, Mrs Martyn said.

The fair begins at 10am on Saturday.
