A small business in Gore is finding national success as an editorial makeup team.
Staff from Indigo Skin & Body, which offers a variety of beauty therapy and makeup services, were selected as the makeup team for three national editorial and fashion events in October and November.
Owner Kristin Leckie said they were honoured to be chosen.
‘‘It’s a big deal for us as we don’t get many of these opportunities in Gore,’’ she said.
‘‘They normally go with a team from Auckland.’’
Ms Leckie said the first opportunity was in July when Indigo was selected as head makeup team for the Hokonui Fashion Design Awards.
‘‘I was privileged to do New Zealand shoe designer, Kathryn Wilson’s makeup,’’ she said.
‘‘She must have been happy with service as she chose us to be the head makeup team for her own event, the Kathryn Wilson catwalk showcase in Queenstown on November 4.’’
Ms Leckie said the team was also proud to be part of the makeup team for an editorial shoot for high-end fashion designer Roxanna Zamani.
‘‘The shoot was for her latest collection and was published in Southland’s The Life magazine.

‘‘Roxanna’s designs are very popular in the United Kingdom,’’ Ms Leckie said.
It was the team’s first editorial.
‘‘We went for a natural editorial look to blend in with the elements and garments made out of natural fibres,’’ she said.
‘‘You wouldn’t think it but creating a natural look can be a bit challenging.’’
