‘‘Local tradesmen serving local people’’ is the motto of two men who started the new business Gore Elite Plumbing and Drainlaying. Co-owners Brent Buchanan and Justin Nicholson grew up in Gore. They are certified plumbers and drainlayers and completed their apprenticeships in the area. Mr Buchanan and Mr Nicholson started the business about four months ago and are already very busy. The pair have combined experience of more than 20 years and are keen to take on work, whether it be small repairs or bigger projects. ‘‘No matter how big or small the job, we’ll quote it for free,’’ Mr Buchanan said. Mr Nicholson has a carpentry background, as he initially trained as a builder. The company deals with plumbing, drainlaying, central heating, fire installation, spouting and roof repairs. In the past four months, the fledgling business has installed eight burners. ‘‘We do a lot of residential, as well as industrial and commercial plumbing for local freezing works,’’ he said. Gore Elite Plumbing and Drainlaying Ltd’s vehicles carry a wide range of maintenance gear, including tapware and drainage equipment. The pair can also repair or replace items that need maintenance at a cost-effective price. ‘‘We strive to repair instead of replacing it, where we can.’’ The company offers no-obligation quotes for any job and there is no call-out charge, 24/7. The company services Eastern Southland, West Otago and Northern Southland.
