The Mataura Pony Club held its first gymkhana of the season on Saturday. Members took part in classing events, where they were judged for their horse-riding skills, and played games.
In the afternoon, there was a showjumping competition.
Organiser Abby Moseby said there was a good turnout for the event, as about 30 riders took part.
‘‘This is a great entry level event suitable for all riders, and it’s the beginning of the season so it gets everybody going.’’
For some of the riders it was their first gymkhana. Riders came from as far away as Clyde for the event.
