Longford Intermediate pupil Caedyn McAllister, 13, returns a serve in his Eastern Southland Primary Schools year 7 and 8 tennis final against St Peters College’s Jack Wilkins, 12, recently.
Shortly after the photograph was taken it started to rain and the game was shifted indoors from the Gore Tennis Club to the Gore Multisport Complex.
Eastern Southland Tennis Association president Susan Wilson said 20 players took part in the tournament.
‘‘There were some really good matches played.’’
The winners are competing in the Southland Primary Schools championships in Invercargill today.
